Gareth Davies describes a central part of the Europlanet 2020 Research infrastructure project, i.e. the access to trans-national facilities. This allows researchers (including Postgraduate students) employed within the EU, academic or industrial, access to a comprehensive set of state of the art laboratory facilities and field sites tailored to the needs of planetary research community Access for researchers based outside the EU is also possible but there are some limitations. Access is arranged three Trans- national Access (TA) programmes.
