Got this off eBay. This thing is massive, and really old. I’d say it’s probably from 2000 or 2001. It uses a chiptune Maorui chip so that’s interesting. As demonstrated in the video, it has two different positions for the switch (one for just bubble blowing, music, and lights, and one for all of those features and bump and go movement). You pour the provided bubble liquid into the tub, and the monkey’s arm is supposed to raise it up to the mouth which blows air out, then dip it back in the tub. It doesn’t do this (probably a split gear) but that’s ok because I don’t wanna have to deal with opening it up and I’m not going to put bubble liquid in it anyways for fear of it spontaneously combusting or something (which I do not want to happen), you know how these things are. The little red clear bit of plastic at the front raises up and down and lights up (though it only moves when the switch is set to the BNG position, not the bubble blowing one). I initially thought this thing was broken when I first got it, I only put batteries in the BNG compartment (I was confused as to how something this big and old only took 2 AAs, but it doesn’t). When you put batteries in the BNG compartment, it only moves the BNG on the BNG position, and does nothing on the other. When you only put batteries in the other compartment, it acts like it’s in the only bubble blowing position on both positions. Pretty cool item.
