#ThickTrunkTuesday Not the thickest trunks, but thicker than they look- these are fairly tall trees. Just taking a moment to look up and around while out in the bush on the farm to harvest deadwood for firewood. The two species of poplars (P. balsamifera and tremuloides) are both very common here, often growing in mixed stands, along with spruce (Picea glauca) and some (smaller) birch (Betula papyrifera -sensu lato?).
