We had a major snowstorm in Helsinki today and what better way to celebrate than grab the mountain bike and go out for a ride. The whole city is suddenly a playground with fun obstacles, in the form of both cars and snow.

I don't normally use the Hämeentie cycling path, hated probably by both car drivers (because making it took their space away 🤭 😭) but also to some extent cyclists, because it's notorious for both parked cars blocking it and getting really poor maintenance after snow. It's not on my normal routes but today I decided to grab my camera and see exactly how bad it would be after snowfall that had lasted through the night up until the afternoon.
