He is currently the head of the Centre for Psychedelic Research, at the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London. In this short highlight from ICRP2016 dr. Carhart-Harris shows their famous brain-imaging picture of brain communication patterns on psilocybin, which was widely shared even in mainstream media. Dr. Carhart-Harris also talks how the brain's Default Mode Network (DMN) literally expands during a psychedelic experience, contrary to previous beliefs. Having this kind of broader headspace has clinical significance especially for people with depression.
