Holding Your Helmet is a song that Emily wrote in reference to her own parenting experiences, as well as the murder of fellow artist temPestilence, who was found by her parents, dead in the water where her boat was moored. Artist Emily van Lidth de Jeude created the SuperMAMA performance alongside her installation, the MAMA Project, in 2010. It has since been performed in various places in British Columbia, Canada, and Washington State, USA.
