Locomotive 45212 had stopped its train at Eccles Station on the morning of 27th October 2024 to take on water. It then had to wait for a local train and two through expresses to pass before it was able to continue its journey east bound. It was pulling ten coaches, all in BR burgundy livery, except for coach number 6, a restaurant car in BR intercity blue. A class 47 diesel 'Chris Fudge' 47746 is at the back, playing a supporting role, probably.

It made for a lot of unexpected interest as we only spotted it because we saw the crew laying out fire hoses from a nearby hydrant and decided to investigate when we saw steam and smoke in the goods siding.
