Video that apparently was the last straw for the arrest of Mikhail Polynkov: compilation of Vladimir Solovyov's programs from 2023 and 2025. In the first part, aired in October 2023, Solovyov says "as a Jew I'm ready to go to my country [Israel] and defend it!" while in the latter, aired in 2025, he rants against Israel's operation in Iran, asking rhetorically "what has Iran done to anyone?" Confrontation of these entirely contradictory statements just two years apart is perceived as "embarassing" for Solovyov by "Russian patriots" (nationalists) who are in general antisemitic. I personally believe Solovyov himself has no political views on his own and will happily voice whatever role is given to him. In 2022 after Hamas attack on Israel, it was important for Moscow - who at the same time supplied weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah - to publicly present a compassionate image, friendly to Israel, in order to prevent it from helping Ukraine. In 2025 it's Iran who is Russia's primary ally, so Solovyov is displaying his anger of Israel and compassion towards Iran. And when ordinary activists like Polynkov interfere with FSB psychological operations, they are arrested.

P.S. answering Solovyov's rhetorical question - yes, Iran for decades supplied its proxies Hamas and Hezbollah with weapons and funding, and publicly declared its objective of destroying Israel. Since 2017 there even was a public "clock of doom" on display in Tehran, counting time till "eradication of Israel", predicted on 9 September 2040.
