Summer 2023. 2 young filmmakers travelled through Europe visiting seed producers at their workplaces and experiencing first-hand how important it is to preserve this diversity in Europe. The short documentary gives a voice to these small-scale seed producers and seed savers from across Europe, with beautiful footage shot in Ireland, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic.

For diversity on our plates and in nature, we also need diversity in seeds. However, when we look at the selection available in supermarkets, including in the vegetable aisle, it quickly becomes clear that everything looks the same, almost all the time and all year round. Why is that? Because large corporations have power over the market. Now, however, EU seed legislation is being reformed - a chance to save seed diversity.

Sommer 2023. Zwei junge Filmemacherinnen reisen durch Europa, besuchen Saatguterzeugerinnen an ihren Arbeitsplätzen und erfahren aus erster Hand, wie wichtig es ist, eine Vielfalt beim Saatgut in Europa zu erhalten. Der kurze Dokumentarfilm lässt diese kleinen Saatguterzeugerinnen und Saatguterhalterinnen aus ganz Europa zu Wort kommen, mit wunderschönen Aufnahmen aus Irland, Luxemburg, Frankreich, Italien, Österreich und der Tschechischen Republik.

Für die Vielfalt auf unseren Tellern und in der Natur brauchen wir schließlich auch Vielfalt beim Saatgut. Schaut man sich jedoch das Angebot in den Supermärkten, auch im Gemüseregal, an, wird schnell klar, dass fast immer und das ganze Jahr über alles gleich aussieht. Warum ist das so? Weil große Konzerne die Macht über den Markt haben. Jetzt aber wird das EU-Saatgutrecht reformiert - eine Chance, die Saatgutvielfalt zu retten.

Été 2023. 2 jeunes réalisateurs ont parcouru l'Europe pour rendre visite aux producteurs et productrices de semences sur leur lieu de travail et constater par eux-mêmes l'importance de la préservation de cette diversité en Europe. Ce court documentaire donne la parole à ces petits producteurs et productrices et conservateurs et conservatrices de semences de toute l'Europe, avec des images magnifiques tournées en Irlande, au Luxembourg, en France, en Italie, en Autriche et en République tchèque.

Pour assurer la diversité dans nos assiettes et dans la nature, nous avons également besoin de diversité dans les semences. Or, lorsque l'on regarde la sélection disponible dans les supermarchés, y compris au rayon des légumes, on se rend vite compte que tout se ressemble, presque tout le temps et tout au long de l'année. Comment cela se fait-il ? Parce que les grandes entreprises ont le pouvoir sur le marché. Aujourd'hui, la législation européenne sur les semences est en train d'être réformée : une chance de sauver la diversité des semences.
