#OnThisDay in 1672, the #Dutch #warship Klein #Hollandia sank in the #English #Channel during the #Battle of the Smyrna Convoy off #Eastbourne, #Sussex. Having joined the #Nautical #Archaeological Society in late 2021, I had the opportunity to make two orientation #dives on this #wreck last summer. The name of the ship being embargoed until broadcast of #BBC’s #Digging for #Britain in January, here’s a mashup our first visit to one #bronze #cannon.
