Satin and Lace (original Celtic-style song by Eddie Biggins)

I wrote this song as part of the Fearless Song Challenge, where you write a song a day for one week. I used "Irish" tuning (DADGAD) so it has that Celtic sound to it.

Satin and Lace (Eddie Biggins)

The work day was awful, I’m glad to be home The dog greets me at the door All I expect is a quiet night in And I don’t need anything more

[Chorus] Then you tell me to turn down The bed and the light And to cancel my plans For the rest of the night Then I look up and see That sweet smile on your face And you come to me dressed in Your satin and lace You come to me dressed in Your satin and lace

When I reach out and my hand touches yours I can’t describe how I feel That’s all that keeps me from going insane And I only wish it was real

When you tell me… [Chorus]

But day after day in my cold prison cell I stare at walls and through bars If it were not for the choices I made I think of what could have been ours

I surely don’t blame you for leaving me, love I know you had every right I wish you the best as I lie here alone And dream the same dream every night

Where you tell me...[Chorus]
