After all the threats to Poland, Putin, frustrated by Ukraine’s suspension of gas transit, is now proposing that Poland restore gas transit through its territory via the Yamal-Europe pipeline. As a reminder, it was Russia who on 26 April 2022 stopped deliveries of gas through the Yamal pipeline after it demanded that Poland makes payments in roubles, which was violation of the contract signed years before. Termination of deliveries was preceded by months of blackmail and supply disruptions by the Russian side.
