This session explores how New York City Technical College and Borough of Manhattan Community College are using a customized WordPress Multisite/BuddyPress application known as Commons-in-a-Box to build out a localized, institution-focused network for its students and faculty. It's open source, it's maintained by CUNY, and it's another brick in the open educational infrastructure within the CUNY Wall of awesome.
