I shot this while working on a recording of O'Farrell's Welcome to Limerick. This is a traditional Irish Slip Jig that goes by a number of names. It was first published (as far as I know) in 1804 in O'Farrell's "National Music of Ireland", in which he claimed it as an original composition. It's also commonly known as 'The Choice Wife', 'An Phis Fliuch' (probably a deliverate dysphemism of the Choice Wife), and the Boy in the Bush (a probable euphemism of that dysphemism) -- and probably half a dozen other titles. This is really an Uilleann Pipes tune and has been played and recorded by any number of great pipers. A couple examples you should check out; there is a great recording of it from Willie Clancy, and another popular pipes version you can find from Liam O'Flynn. Anyway, it's a favorite tune of mine and I hope I'm doing it just a little bit of justice here on the guitar. Speaking of guitar versions, English guitarist Richard Thompson recorded a great version of it, and my current favorite is a version played by Steve Cooney on a Stratocaster. There is a video of that Steve Cooney version on the commercial video sharing platform that you can find.
