On September 16, 2023, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs sponsored a performance of New Works//Public Works by composer/conductor Skyler Hagner, a resident of Inwood, in Isham Park, just a few blocks from where my wife and I live in Inwood, Upper Manhattan. We'd only learned about the performance as we were walking through the park, on our way to do some shopping, so by the time we'd returned from our chores, put away the food, and made it back to the park the first two pieces had already been performed. We were there for about 70 minutes of the 90-minute concert and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The three clips uploaded here give you some sense of the event (which, by the time it ended, had attracted far more listeners than are pictured here) but the audio quality is...abysmal. You can get a better idea of the quality of Hagner's music at their YouTube channel.
