Moose on Frosty Alberta Back Road

time1 yr agoview3 views

Near sunset, about -7C, after a foggy day and night before-making for frosty trees. This was my view when I went to check the mail. This moose came up from the slough to the left, headed across the road to another wetland area, but just decided to hang out in the middle of the road for a while! Part of the time it was looking at me (this is zoomed, so I wasn't very close) just curious, I guess? I did see it at one point looking looking to the left, where it came from, it may have been waiting for another moose to join it. I suspect the whitish patch on one shoulder may indicate a tick infestation (not the lyme diesease kind)- they can cause the moose to loose hair in some areas, leaving them with a patchy /spotted look.
