It’s not easy for international students to find a room in the Netherlands. SORRY, DUTCH STUDENTS ONLY, it says on many ads for rooms on social media. And it’s kind of unfair, because Dutch students also like to study abroad. In 2019, 20.000 Dutch students went abroad to study, in 98 different countries. Julie is from Brazil and came to the Netherlands for studies. She can’t stand to see the international students having such a hard time and even being scammed a lot. So she tries to help them by matching them up to local families with a spare room.
