Fungi Couture is a digital- and bio-fabricated clothing collection. It is based on inspiration from the fungi kingdom aesthetics and studying its form and texture. The project explores how digital fabrication methods can be deployed to ‘decode’ and recreate fungi specific aesthetics and properties in garments. The work shows how digital- and computational design, create a new perspective on ‘pattern making’ and ‘pattern manipulation’.

All of the collection is made through sustainable approaches like using bio-fabricated materials or choosing second-hand, low impact fabrics for the garments. Fungi Couture shows an elaborate collection fabricated in digital-, computational-, and sustainable ways. It does so without having to make any concessions in wearability or aesthetics.
