___ Synopsis ___

(EN) A normal day disrupted by a sudden worsening of health... Ending in a night in the ER. To save its life, its bodily systems had to be modified, making them exposed to the outside world. Can it go on living, looking into its own guts?... Based on a real experience.

(PL) Zwykły dzień zakłóciło nagłe złe samopoczucie... I noc na oddziale ratunkowym. Uratowano mu życie, ale musiano do tego zmodyfikować działanie jego ciała, eksponując systemy wewnętrzne na świat zewnętrzny. Czy da się żyć, patrząc we własne flaki?... Oparte na prawdziwych doświadczeniach.

___ About this film ___

This was my 2nd semester project at ASP Wrocław, and was supposed to be finished about a month or two ago. It ended up taking a bit longer... It wasn't really supposed to end up with such a long runtime.. Well, these things happen in the creative process. At multiple times I regretted choosing this topic for my semester film. But I'm glad I did pull through. I think this did help me work through my medical trauma, at least a little bit. And maybe it'll resonate with some people out there. Those "mechaguts" are an analogy to my (luckily temporary) ostomy, just want to put that out there. Not a literal ostomy for a couple reasons, including that I'd rather not recall what it actually looked like to stare into my own intestine. Usually ostomies are an improvement in quality of life too. I'm an outlier, and don't want people to think ostomies are inherently bad or scary or something. Mine was a very rare case.

Ah, yes, I should mention: I do not consider myself human. This film is a bit about that too. I use the label "therian" as a shorthand to explain. (I'm not a fox/wolf. The character is a stand-in.) You'd think confronting my body and its nature would make me less convinced of that. Had the opposite effect, actually.
