Russia's minister of foreign affairs Maria Zakharova comments on the UN report which found that 95% of released Ukrainian POWs had endured systematic torture in Russian prisoners, enumerating cases of unbelievable depravity of her own army, such as "torture, electric current and torture with the use of animals, violent medical manipulations". She does seem to be genuinely shaken by what her country is doing to the Ukrainian prisoners in Russian custody.

P.S. Zakharova of course doesn't talk of Russian war crimes... but in a way she does, only using the notorious Russian propaganda technique of mirrored reality. The same 2024 UN report does mention occasional mistreatment of Russian POWs in Ukraine, but these cases were infrequent and incomparable in their scale to what is happening in Russia. Most importantly, UN and ICRC have full access to Russian POWs in Ukraine, while they have no access to Ukrainian POWs in Russia.
