I'm building a simple 555 timer based logic probe from spare parts I had laying around.
Original schematics from ETI (November 1979): https://schematicsforfree.com/files/Radio%20%26%20Communications/Test%20Equipment/RF%20Monitor%20Meter.pdf
Updated version on Instructables: https://www.instructables.com/Build-Your-Own-Logic-Probe-on-the-Cheap-Using-a-55/
I used an ILC555 chip instead of an original NE555 and also replaced the 1N914 diodes with 1N4148s.
