In Palestine, olive oil is basically liquid gold. Not only is Palestinian olive oil rich in flavor, but it's also extremely financially valuable. Approximately 12 million olive trees are planted across the West Bank. The olive oil industry reportedly supports the livelihoods of more than 100,000 Palestinian families and accounts for a quarter of the gross agricultural income of the occupied Palestinian territory.
