Due to the variable balls being in fact a linear constant, balls cannot grow exponentially, it would actually not be ball, as that is also linear. We are currently speaking in terms of exponential growth, so to calculate the square root of balls we will need to do some Koyuki math. As you know, a square root is a number that makes another number you are looking for by multiplying with itself.
