Next, we explore major external forces potentially transforming the web, starting by checking several existential threats to the technology (and ourselves). We move on to address several cultural possibilities, followed by how other major technologies might intersect the web. We dwell on how the unfolding climate crisis could reshape Tim Berners-Lee's invention, then offer several scenarios for the next stage of the world wide web.
