This tarp is covering some firewood in a wheelbarrow in front of the house, in a sunny spot. Still early spring, sheltered spots in the sun are warm, shade or open places are cooler. Occasional flies were drawn to this tarp, and the spider knew where to look for a meal. I had my bag with outdoor supplies sitting on the tarp, and when I moved it, there it was, carrying its prey. I left it alone after a few minutes and saw it was still there for a while, then the dead fly was left not looking too much different- I wonder if the spider was already finished with it, or just moved on?
