Both defeated sitting Vice Presidents in the election.

Both Presidents had three children. Both First Ladies lost a son while in office. And each son's name contained 21 letters.

Both Presidents were shot in the back of the head, on the Friday before a major holiday, while seated beside their wives, neither of whom were injured. Both died in nearby locations.

Each assassin went by three names. John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald. And each of their names contains 15 letters.

Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and ran to a warehouse. Oswald shot Kennedy in a warehouse and ran to a theater.

Lincoln was shot in Ford's theater. Kennedy was shot... in a Ford Lincoln.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's secretary was named Evelyn Lincoln.

Both assassins were shot to death before they could be brought to trial.

Lincoln and Kennedy each had vice presidents from the South named Johnson that took over.

Andrew Johnson was born in 1808, Lyndon Johnson was born in 1908. And their names each contain 13 letters.
