Eagle is a low cost, versatile digital asset manager for Windows and Mac. It is $30 for a license to install on two devices with a one time purchase. It is local-first, storing your assets in a directory on your hard drive with a sidecar plain text file that keeps track of organizational metadata. There is a nice amount of automation and built in retrieval tools to alleviate the stress of having to lay out groundwork beforehand in order to start using it.
