In 1948, Zionist militias pillaged and destroyed Palestinian villages in the name of the creation of the state of Israel. An estimated 750,000 Palestinians were forced out of their homes and were made refugees, never able to return to their homeland. Palestinians remember this event as the ‘Nakba’, or ‘catastrophe’. But now, 75 years later, Palestinians are still witnessing catastrophe, every single day. In the form of military occupation, siege, and apartheid. Through constant dispossession, displacement, and denial of their history - all in the name of preserving the ‘Jewish State’.
