This is an approximately realtime "live" recording of processing a prop model from BlendSwap so that we can use it to dress a set in "Lunatics!". This includes:
- Finding and downloading a prop from BlendSwap
- Transferring information to track correct attribution in our credits
- Reorganizing the UI to a standard layout for Lunatics
- Converting the materials, lighting, and preview to get a consistent non-photorealistic (NPR) style (most of the video is dedicated to this)
- Packing external data to make the file self-contained
- Moving the file to the appropriate place in our source tree
- Committing the change
I decided to do this realtime as a way of showing my thought process. So there are a number of missteps, dead-ends, and corrections, which partly accounts for the length. I may do a more abbreviated version later, but if all you want to know are the settings I ended up with, that can be expressed with a still image. Or you can just download the Blend file itself from our Subversion source repository:
https://svn.lunatics.tv/browser/trunk/Library/Models/Props/Chairs/conference_table-PD-RomanGischig-rgischig-BSWP.blend
A preview of the resulting model:

Note that the SVN server has a self-signed HTTPS certificate (it's to keep project passwords secured). You may have to make an exception to your browser's security policy to browse the source.
As the video notes, the original model was created by Roman Gischig (rgischig at BlendSwap).
