"Ukraine is the aggressor here", argues a Russian expert on state TV

An expert on Russian TV claims that while "previously Ukraine portrayed itself as a victim and subject to invasion", it now "automatically becomes an aggressor" after its incursion into Kursk oblast'. He also claims that "there was no military there", which then he himself refines that "apart from border force and military conscripts" and further that their presence was in some unspecified "agreement between the states", apparently meaning Ukraine, which he then uses to once again argue that "Ukraine violated this agreement as well". This speech is a one continuous chain of fallacies, mastered by Russian propaganda in general.

The expert interestingly uses passive language in "Ukraine was invaded", not clarifying who exactly invaded it and then conveniently skips the only logical conclusion that that country must have equally "automatically" be nominated as an "aggressor" when it invaded Ukraine two years before Kursk. Then he claims "there was no military" only to state that actually there was military and brings some unspecified "agreements", while forgetting that it was in the first place Russia who violated a dozen of mutual agreements with its invasions in 2014 and 2022. And there's no international law that says that a country in self-defence must be restricted to its own territory in its defence and Ukraine of course is free to attack military targets in Russia in order to repel or distract the enemy forces from Ukraine.

The whole speech is a nice example of the fallacious narratives mainstreamed by Russian state propaganda among its audience, who will subsequently parrot the arguments but never look into their logical consistency.
