Reasons to remove core include injecting sealant (such as Slime), tighten valve to prevent air loss, deflate tire faster, unclog valve of sealant, & replace corroded valve core because of sealant. Sealant has its pros & cons. It will clog punctures but will also clog & corrode your valve core. I recommend using Tannus Armour (non tubeless version) instead of sealant. Sometimes the material in the sealant can impede the seating of the seal on the valve core. So you have to clean the valve area after injecting sealant. Clean the valve and valve hole of sealant.
