I've long been annoyed by the train tracks that split downtown Calgary in half, particularly because they only way across them was to walk or ride your bike through some underpasses that were dingy, dark, sketchy, and, in some cases, terrifying. And while the city hasn't yet turned those train tracks into an opportunity (like, say, bringing passenger train service back), they have done a good job improving the underpasses.
