The walk to school turned terrifying for a Black Rochester teen who was shot at after he stopped to ask for directions at the home of a white couple. Fourteen-year-old Brennan Walker missed the bus and tried to walk to school, but got lost after he couldn't remember the route. The freshman wasn't hit, as the shot missed him as he ran away. Brennan and his mother believe the shooting was racially motivated, and the statements made by the wife of the shooter seem to confirm that. The man who fired the shot, Jeffrey Zeigler, has been convicted of assault with attempt to do great bodily harm and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
