Graphical Applications for Simple File Sharing on Linux

time5 mo agoview2 views

File sharing on Linux has never been easier. Graphical applications that require little more than pushing a button are all that are needed for simple file sharing, and we have a number of choices.

Samba and NFS have been with us a long time of course, but they are really over-kill for transferring the odd file when permanent access - e.g. a NAS box, just isn't required.

Much simpler solutions exist. In fact, the first application I look at in this video is the interestingly named, Warpinator, now a default part of the latest Linux Mint.

I then go on to look at a similar, but cross-platform application, called LAN-share, before finally returning to the venerable Filzilla.

Whether you need a simple Linux to Linux solution, a cross-platform solution, or an all in one application that can even share files between remote sites, Linux has you covered.
