Futurama will surely be considered prescient for many things, but I'm quite certain that their take on the future of advertising will be considered the most farsighted.
Leela: "Didn't you have ads in the 20th century?" Fry: "Well sure, but not in our dreams! Only on tv and radio...and in magazines...and movies. And at ball games, on buses, and milk cartons, and t-shirts, and bananas, and written on the sky. But not in dreams! No sirree."
From Futurama Season 1, Episode 6 (A Fistful of Dollars)
I don't own this material; it's just a fair use segment. Futurama is copyright Matt Groening, 20th Century Fox, etc. etc.
