Ford Theatre premiered on CBS as an hour long monthly show in 1948. By 1952, it had moved to NBC in a half hour weekly format. The original CBS run featured broadway actors, and was broadcast live in NYC. The NBC run featured Hollywood actors, and was filmed on the west coast, and not broadcast live.
Performers appearing during this era included Frank Bank, Scott Brady, Claudette Colbert, Charles Coburn, Ed Hinton, Vivi Janiss, Peter Lawford, Sam Levene, Ida Lupino, Thomas Mitchell, Dennis Morgan, Karen Sharpe, Ann Sheridan, Barry Sullivan, and Beverly Washburn. Also appearing for the first time together were Ronald Reagan and Nancy Davis in an episode entitled "First Born," which first aired on February 3, 1953.
This episode, Emergency, aired in October of 53, after the July "season" break.
I have been unable to find this episode in any home video release, and it does not appear on youtube or the Internet Archive at this time.
Episode number and date from IMDB (wikipedia disagrees, calling it Season 5, rather than Season 2. This seems more accurate, as the NBC and CBS versions of this show are still, essentially the same show. But if you make that consolation, then how does the radio program that preceded it fit in?)
