I wanted to mimic that driving bass line the whole time, so that was the biggest challenge; but once I got my thumb hitting the root and five on the bass string, and getting a slap on the back beat... the rest started coming into focus. I also wanted to dial in a little bit of that rockabilly vibe, so I ran a direct signal from the Fishman MX pickup, and threw some subtle slap echo on it in the mix.
