Geologic mapping is a key activity for planetary science and exploration. Rooted in few centuries of Terrestrial experience, the mapping of Solar System bodies makes nowadays large use of data remotely collected by spacecrafts.

In order to foster planetary geologic mapping research and applications in Europe and beyond, GMAP (Geologic MAPping) was set up as part of Europlanet 2024 RI's Virtual Access programme.
