Performed by the Eastman Graduate Composers' Sinfonietta on 4/10/19. Conducted by Jakub Rompczyk.
The two percussionists on ether side of the ensemble are using small amplifiers and dynamic mics for feedback. One is also using a contact mic run through a home stereo loudspeaker cabinet with the speaker polarity reversed. When the contact mic is touched to the speaker cone, it makes various low, flabby feedback noises, and pressing the fingers on the cone changes the pitch and timbre.
The pianist also has a contact mic and a bass shaker/transducer (again wired backward) to make buzzing feedback against the piano strings.
