Due to induced traffic, building or expanding roads and highways doesn't help to reduce congestion very much, if at all, over the long-run. Based on this, some people have asked us whether building more housing might not actually help affordability like you would expect.

In this video, we dive into the research on housing supply to find that it really does help housing affordability. We also discuss some of the differences between housing and roads that make it easier for the supply of housing to keep up with demand than for the supply of roads to keep up with (car) demand.
