Amidst the heat and sunshine, I have been thinking of darkness and the sea… These are three of my most recent devotional poems to Herself. Each written about a particular set of subjects or experiences, loosely connected from poem to poem, and all with emphasis on creating ritual shifts.

The song is 'Bryd one Brere', the oldest surviving secular love song in (Middle) English - c. 1290-1320 AD. In addition to my love of early music, this piece (as I currently understand it) features a kind of play on words between bryd/brid (bird) and biryd (woman). The 'original' was written on the back of an earlier papal bull and is presumably missing one of two voices…
Do with that what you will 😉 I did. #artmagic
