According to Ukrainian journalist Ihor Lachenkov the 1 June 2025 attack against Russian long-range aviation was a SBU operation codenamed "Cobweb" (Ukr. Павутина) and was planned for over a year. SBU first shipped FPV drones to Russia, then lightweight wooden constructions with mobile ceiling. The drones were placed in the launch pad already in Russia and shipped using regular logistic companies. At destination, the roof was remotely removed and drones flew away towards their designated targets. SBU highlights that everyone involved has been long ago evacuated from Russia.
