David Graeber: ‘Extreme Centre' (Kamala Harris/Keir Starmer) Vs ‘Phoney Facism’ (Donald Trump/Boris Johnson) 🥱

The late, great David Graeber in an interview for Double Down News on how the ‘Extreme Centre' (Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, Kier Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau, Barack Obama et al) and the ‘Phoney Facism’ of the populist right (Donald Trump, Boris Johnson et al) compliment one another in what is a very narrow political spectrum that we currently exist within.

If we want real change we need to expand our minds a lot wider than falling for the same trick of ANY of this lot over and over again.

Lots of people on Mastodon are lamenting the fact that Kamala Harris did not get elected. Sure she may have been the preferred choice of those lamenting it, but I guarantee she would have had the same effect as Blair, Obama, Macron, Biden and Starmer: Pushing for continual growth on a finite, at-verge-of-collapse planet; continuing to serve the interests of the rich, elite and most powerful; and bringing about the destruction of our most cherished public assets (such as the NHS in the UK).
