This is a recording of our live streamed film festival. All films have English/Bulgarian subtitles; the discussions between them are only in English.

We're all still processing the recent fascist attack on an LGBT+ social center in Sofia. It brings us strength and joy to announce at such a time this special 3rd edition of Autonomous Cinema. Violetki are joining queer collectives from around the world for a 10-day (11-20 Nov) live streamed film festival for Palestine. For our chapter on 14 November we'll watch 10 low/no-budget short films and discuss them together with the filmmakers. The themes vary from refugee love, through animal liberation, to queer Romani witchcraft.

✊ We want to uplift marginalized experiences, share localized realities, and come together in solidarity with Palestinians' struggle for liberation. We will not tolerate discrimination, specifically any vague insinuations of hate towards Jewish people. Our struggle is against the state, the military, the colonialist, racist systems and ideologies, and our platform will not accept prejudice. This is our metaphorical attempt at collectively building bridges - and smashing borders!
