A clip of a police raid of a brothel, in Paris, 1791, from 'Let Joy Reign Supreme' (1975) (fr. 'Que la fête commence...') directed by Bertrand Tavernier set to the theme song from the American TV show 'Cops'. This movie explores the insular power politics of the French nobility in the ancien régime and the casual cruelty and abuse the ruling class imposed on the peasants prior to the French Revolution.
The goal is to expand the relevancy of this clips depictions of state violence. What may appear to be a poorly-aged French movie from the 70s depicted a government from 300 years ago remains immediately relevant.
