Classics of "Russian Hollywood": a movie posing to be recorded by Ukrainian army "on the front" line where "hundreds of killed ZSU soldiers" are buried in improvised mass graves because "we can't evacuate bodies" due to "insane pressure" from Russians. The question how an excavator can freely operate in such conditions is left as an exercise to the audience. The narrator pretends to speak Ukrainian but the only word he pronounces clearly is blyad' which happens to be Russian expletive, not Ukrainian... The primary purpose of this fake is to demonstrate allegedly huge losses of the Ukrainian army and its demoralisation, which - as Russian channels explain - makes it hide its dead in order to avoid payments to the families of the fallen soldiers. But this trick doesn't work in Ukraine, where "missing in action" (MIA) soldiers continue to receive their pay until their status - killed in action (KIA) or prisoner of war (POW) - is confirmed, when other forms of family payments enter in force. In Russia however families of the missing soldiers only receive a minimal ~200 EUR per month social support and do not receive the huge KIA compensation, which is why it makes economic sense for Russian authorities to engage in such schemes, cheating on their soldiers' families. And the Russian families are helpless, because no media will publish their appeals and if they speak about it they may be prosecuted based on the "spreading false information about armed forces" criminal code laws. In Ukraine at the same time independent media are thriving, so even the slightest cases of corruption or breaking of law by military authorities are immediately amplified countrywide.
