#TheSchumanShow Ever wondered what it's like to be a European Commissioner?
Meet European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius. In charge of the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries portfolio since 2019, at the age of 28 years old he became the the youngest ever European Commissioner. We sat down with him recently in an intimate one-on-one chat about his life inside the imposing Berlaymont alongside the rest of the College of Commissioners.
As the European Commission is the main executive body within the European Union, it puts forward proposals for new laws, which are scrutinised and adopted by the other EU institutions. It's only natural that the protection of our planet is a crucial focus area - as outlined in the EC's numerous legislative policies. We wanted to dig into this area more, with someone who shoulders these responsibilities.
Join host Kelly Agathos in a friendly chat with Commissioner Sinkevičius, where they discuss environmental policies and the EU Green Deal, the importance of democracy and voting, and whether there's more Michaels or more Dwights inside the European Commission.
