Bike lanes can win elections. Here's proof

time1 yr agoview2 views

There's a perception in North America that it's political suicide to build bike lanes — because all motorists loathe bike lanes and will vote en-masse against any politician who advocates for them. But is this perception match reality? There's mounting evidence that bike-lane "controversies" don't necessarily translate to votes. Rather than being annihilated at the voting booth, bike-friendly politicians keep getting re-elected. So what's going on here?
