If you don’t know why you’re in a meeting, ask. If you don’t know the goals of a meeting or workstream, ask. If it seems like different stakeholders have different understandings of key topics, call it out and ask for clarity. This can be difficult, but it can also be the reason why a project or product succeeds where it would otherwise have floundered.
