Ashfield Lake, Slow Winter Fun

time5 mo agoview7 views

My old friend Alan was having lunch at the Lake House next to Ashfield Lake and took this video of some very sweet slow winter fun. The ice is very thick, about 12 inches. A large rectangle is cut out near the shore for a Polar Plunge benefit. There are a a bunch of emergency folks there right now in their bright yellow insulating "Gumby" suits. A bit further out is a giant circle about 60 feet in diameter cut in the ice and at one point near an edge is a man operating an electric trolling motor with a 12V battery. This is making the whole ice circle slowly turn and little kids are running on and off the rotating circle having fun.
